DescriptionThis new hybrid is a tribute to the Swedish director Ingmar Bergman and one of the Disney Nine Old Men, Ward Kimball.The 1957 Bergman movie is about an aging professor who, after living a life marked by coldness, is forced to confront the emptiness of his existence. In Alberto's illustration, we see Professor Ludwig Von Drake as Dr. Isak Borg. We're in the nightmare sequence, where clocks do not have hands, buildings appear as preserved ruins with doors and windows boarded, there's a sense of void and emptiness, and a hand rises from a coffin. To mix Disney with Swedish existentialism is quite a hard task :) But I see Alberto nailed it again. Very evocative piece!

Ingmar Bergman's film intense and immense. Equal power illustration. Great and difficult mix!
