Pre-movie, I found a copy of the book in a Narita International Airport bookstore among its small English-language selections and decided that it would be the perfect book to read on the trip back to the States. I was not disappointed. My brother-in-law saw my copy and he couldn't resist picking it up either so I left it with him. Anyhoo... Nowlan captures that weird dichotomy of dignified historical figure crossed with Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter quite well. Cheers!

Very cool piece. I admit, I initially thought the movie would be a disappointment, but was pleasantly suprised!
