I have to be honest, the Power Company series introduced several new characters into the DCU and I can't say I remember much about any of them. In retrospect, when you see the covers for the 7 one-shots and realize that every single one had well established DCU heroes sharing the cover space with the newbies, it pretty much tells you everything you need to know about how much faith the DC brass had that these new characters would be saleable, which is to say, likely little faith at all.

But the wonderful thing about being a comic art collector is that the stories and attempts at creating new characters don't have to matter. As in the case of this cover, where I simply enjoy the bottom part of the cover as a scene featuring a random character fighting the hordes o Kobra, while primarily focusing on the beautiful, pulse pounding pencilling wizardry of Tom Grummett drawing the Justice League, in the "giant heads looming above the scene" design Marvel made famous during the 1960's!

NOTE: The pencils were inked on a separate board by Mike Bair.

Yeah, this is definitely like getting two covers in one! You get that great lower battle scene and then you also get the big JLA heads above. Each part has a distinctive feel and texture to it. And those pencils...WOW!!
