Description

These two original art 11"X17" covers on 2-ply board were drawn by Ivan Reis and inked by Joe Prado, the regular Superman art team from DC Comics' Superman series. Joe inked these over bluelines of the Reis pencil art. These were to be used as a cover and an acetate overlap cover for DC's "Year of the Villain" event on Superman # 17 (2018) but there was a story alteration and these were ultimately not used by editorial for print. The blueline art shows reflections on the crystals they hold, Lois in Superman's cover and Superman in Lois' cover. These are both signed by Joe Prado and donated to the non-profit Inkwell Awards in 2020 by mail (in lieu of canceled conventions due to the pandemic health precautions) for fundraising to support their annual Dave Simons Inkwell Memorial Scholarship Fund to a second year student in need at the Kubert School.
