Description

Thoom! Banner is in charge of Hulk’s body, thanks to Doc Samson’s encephalo-invention (hence the helmet Hulk is seen wearing). Glenn Talbot’s mind has been scrambled previously, by the Gremlin, and Doc Samson’s technical wizardry comes the rescue again via a shrinking device and an improbable plan to send Hulk into Talbot’s brain to fix the damage. But in the process, Talbot’s struggling mind causes memories to manifest as phantoms of many of Hulk’s foes. Bdam!

For a fight page, I could not have hoped for better foes than the Leader and the Rhino, my two favourites. I’m grateful to Dom Masullo for selling this page to me. Joe Staton’s finishes are so slick over Sal Buscema’s dynamic layouts – and those layouts look to have been pretty detailed, given how much of Sal comes through. Both artists have signed the page.
