DescriptionStephane saved a unique sketch for me from Italian artist Mirka Andolpho, a new gallery addition, of his character Hellaine from his comic book series "Mercy". I received the blueline file and printed it up on letter-sized 2-ply board and asked for reference for how he normally handles this character in ink and saw that he uses gray markers, metallic markers, gold leaf, pretty much mixed media, although also done with straight black India ink. When working on it I ultimately chose not to add any mixed media save warm gray Pantone/Prismacolor markers for the pencil shading feeling anything else would feel gratuitous. I chose to use my first scan in RBG that was not edited because while more blue shows through it best captured my added tones...but I did include both RBG and b&w edited versions as well (from which the tones faded as I tried to reduce the blue from the image) and the pencils at the end. The client appreciated my 15th job for him which I finished working on July 29, 2020.Social/Sharing |

I am not familiar with either the artist or the character. The original pencils are very nice, but I feel your inking has brought it to another level. Congrats.
