DescriptionAround late-2020 I started noticing some VERY cool color commissions from a Spanish artist named Marcial Toledano starting to pop up in spurts. I was immediately drawn to his style - a mix of clean figure work paired with immaculately drawn and painted backgrounds and environment. Quick search told me was represented by Inky Knuckles so when Cam opened his list, I was right there in line.Fast forward a little bit and this baby came to me fully formed with the incredible fish-eye upward perspective, lighting and the gorgeously rendered neon lighting of the city. Could not be happier with this piece and it was well worth the wait. Marcial is destined for big things. Social/Sharing |

Another side benefit of having an artist's eyes, I wager... never choosing subpar art! Man, I get sad every time I think of being unable to make it to Como. Represent !

Hahaha appreciate the thought, bud but when it comes to commissions, the only artist's eye that matter is the dude drawing it! I'm gonna hold it down at Como for us...you'll be there in spirit!

Broadway is art tonight
A camera fishlens that you used to see
Cyberpunk art tonight
See Spider-Man swingin' for the new art star
Toledano's turn to shine
The color thrills Eranaga
And neon night's O'Hara
I'd never trade this here for all the Hulk in pearls
Marcial's paint art drawn
Your two oh ninenty nine
Your art about the world
Like it's someplace that you've been
You see you'd love to swing home
But you know Williamson
'Cause you're livin' in a world
That you're Leonardi around here
Marcial's art tonight
An Eranaga posting that you like to see
Broadway is art tonight
Soon Spider-Man swingin' for the upstart star
Devasurendra's time to shine

A very warm feeling to this one. Love the look of the paint. soft, yet vibrant and luminescent. Great pose too. Congrats!

This is beautiful! I was talking to my wife last night about hanging one or two pieces of art in the front hallway of our house, and she said she would be cool with it if it was a color piece. "But nothing with weapons like a sword or a gun. And nothing provocative. And it needs to be something that people who walk into the house will see and think it's interesting to look at even if they know nothing about comics. Preferably with a city background." I had my iPad open to CAF and had just seen you post this, so I asked "do you mean something like this?" She said yes, which is high praise coming from my wife.

WOW...that's high praise indeed! The spousal vote may in fact be THE highest for of praise. Now I just need your wife to speak with my wife...

Toledano's stuff is so clean that it almost looks like an animation cel. Very cool pick up, E.
