Description

Evan is known for incredibly intricate scratchboard work but I was watching an Inky Knuckles live-stream and pleasantly surprised to find out that he's equally talented with looser pen and ink drawing as well. I watched this stream and was mesmerized as Evan put this together with very little underlying sketch - just springing forth as he went along. I was even more pleasantly surprised when this showed up in an Inky art drop and grabbed it immediately. I'll be on the prowl for an Evan Cagle full-blown commission but for now this piece is a real delight and has me satiated.

I love Evan's scratchboard stuff too but there is something haunting about this. I love the simple composition and the balls that it takes to stage the subject walking away from the viewer.

Beautiful piece showcasing the calm after the storm, you can feel that energy coming off the page, smell the fresh kill and feel the cold.
