Love the noir feel here! Just beautiful!
What a wonderful cover - Geoff Shaw's fantastic!
Wolverine looks so great here. A combination of James Bond and feral assassin. And I'm always a big fan of having supporting characters pictured around the main one. As you say, it sets up an intriguing tale of action, intrigue and suspense that you want to dive into. And wow what a great inky black background to make everyone pop. Congrats, Bill, it's another winner for your amazing collection!
GREAT PICKUP BILL!!
So stylish!
Stunning cover! Rich montage with marvelous deep inks!
Fantastic cover !!
Still one of my favorite locations and characterizations, when it comes to Wolvie's stories. Great cover!
Great issue. First appearances! Helicarrier! Mandroids! Monkeys! Hits all the key points of why people buy comics.
Shaw is the best. Huge fan of his work.
great cover, love the inking work. def takes you back in time even though it's a modern cover. congrats
Excellent modern take with throwback style. The inking choices make it pop! Congrats!
Logan rocking the cummberbund. Great cover Bill.
Fantastic cover piece with a bunch of well drawn characters. Nice find!
Wolvie cleans up well! Dripping with Style!
A great commemoration of Madripoor nights, filled with intrigue and spycraft.
You can't see it in the published version, but the vertical background of layered ink strokes filling in the back do have the style of illustration painters to make us feel the drama and weight in this cover.
incredible pièce wolverine - congrats !!
This is a beautifully illustrated throwback to the original series. While Shaw certainly has a style that's all his own, it is still evocative of how the legendary Big John Buscema's work used to look like. That's no small feat, but Shaw pulls it off here with panache! Kudos on this acquisition, Bill!
This cover packs two patches for the price of one, and you have to be blind to miss how much it shines. Congrats !
Such a cool cover!
Wow, this is an amazing cover that has the flair and feel of a movie poster. I love the composition and lighting of of all the subjects. I'm used to seeing Wloverine in rage mode but here he has a Bond 007 sophisticated look but much more deadly. Fantastic pick up!
Geoff did a great job here! Congrats!!!
Pure perfection!
Lovely! There is nothing I love more in a piece of comic art, than the splotchy brush strokes of ink on paper.
Movie poster composition with old school pen and ink draftsmanship- really nice cover, congrats!
Superb!
My name is Howlett, James Howlett.
Awesome cover, Bill!
Great image - certainly sets a scene
Wolverine cleans up pretty well when he wants to! I'm pretty sure he even polished his claws!
Geoff Shaw does great work with heavy black inks. I really enjoy the central image of Wovlerine and the shadows on the other "Patch" character.
Move over 007, move over Spiderman Noir...there's a new bub in town. Fantastic cover and acquisition Bill
Epic history in this cover, just in time for an epic movie appearance! Wolvie oozes pure class.
Great Piece! Really reminds me of the Madripor run
Like you (and others above me), I find that Shaw did a nice job at evocating the early days of Wolvie's first regular series.
Shaw is underrated in my opinion. His work is top notch and I love his use of black background here. It really draws the eyes to the characters which have been laid out perfectly. Congrats!
All dressed up and looking for a fight. Nice addtion Bill.
Such a debonair cover that simultaneously pays homage to John Buscema's run. Now I gotta pick up this book!
'HOWLETTT .. LOGAN HOWLETT" WHAT AN OUTSTANDING COVER!
Admittedly, anything involving Wolverine is not to my current comic reading tastes but one of the things I admired most about Claremont was how he pivoted once he had exhausted himself telling stories about Logan's repressed berserker rage. Introducing stories about the character's long history and global experiences gave him additional years of stories to tell.
A fantastic cover, indeed! Great addition!
You can bet Wolverine polished his claws before painting the town red... with blood !!!
Gorgeous Patch imagery, love the heavy shadows and dark inks. Wonderful addition, congratulations!
Beautiful piece Bill. Claws out!
Great cover
Very cool Wolverine cover of the Madripoor/Patch era, Shaw does a great job, congrats!
always enjoyed the Patch charcter, great looking cover!
Fantastic cover from Shaw and so cool to see Marvel bring back Patch for the series.
Awesome cover! Great composition, bold shadows, and hard looks.
Good thing its not a rental!
Didn't know much about this part of Wolverine's history, but the Patch look always looked interesting (then again, Wolverine in a suit always looks interesting to me because of the contrast with his persona). And add in a fun James Bond/movie poster layout to really sell the vibe of the story. Congrats!
This Suited Wolverine with open claws looks fantastic !!!
Great cover composition too...congrats again Bill !
Strong movie poster feel - love that quality about it. Each image takes you back while at the same time making you want to pick up this book and see what happens next on the inside. Shaw's use of shadow...top notch stuff. Congrats, Bill!
Tremendous cover!!! Wolvie looks amazing and wild!
Love everything about this cover ! This is beyond awesome and the art is just perfect. Huge congrats and thanks for sharing !
I really like the Tyger Tyger. Beautiful lady, but also sets the era right away!
How did I miss this one?! It's fantastic!
Such beautiful linework! Man, there really is something about the original B&W artwork that can't be described.
