Terrific cover featuring Superman using his heat vision. For whatever reason this story was never run by DC but Michael had produced an entire issue for the 1990 annual which was written by Chris Claremont and labeled as The Adventures of Superman Annual #3 dated 1989. This information courtesy of a Facebook member over at the Original ComicArt Collectors page. Sounds like something I would have liked to have read. I wonder what happened?
Michael Golden is known more for his work on Batman and there's not much Superman art out there by him so I was thrilled to add this nice cover to my collection.

Absolutely a powerhouse of a cover image. Golden is able to fill to the edges with a three dimensional presentation of the billowing smoke and heat vision energy around a fully battle engaged Superman!

Such a great cover. The unreleased issue has been published in fanzines and it looked great.

It was actually Spanish ones. Bootlegs of extremely small print runs.

Thanks. The cover is likely to be printed in the upcoming IDW Michael Golden artists edition since it was just scanned by Scott this weekend. As long as DC doesn't put the kibosh on it. Maybe he'll get access to some pages also.
