Terry and the Pirates - April 10, 1940 (Milton Caniff)

One of the most celebrated contributors to the comic art form was Milton Caniff. His finest gift was the legendary Terry and the Pirates strip. Adding an example from this series into my collection is a true joy.

"Snack Snatched" was published on April 10, 1940. The now 83 year-old strip features Terry's pal, Pat Ryan, Raven Sherman, Captain Blaze, and the lovely April Kane.

This art came from the Bobby G. Murphy collection. Mr. Murphy built a notable collection of strip artwork during his lifetime and this was offered through his estate. I am grateful that he served as the caretaker of some amazing treasures and allowed this work to exist until finding its way to me now.
