DescriptionThis one is special to me…a small miracle of a daily from the 27th Rip Kirby storyline „Grand Passion“, by the one and only Alex Raymond. The way Rip & Pagan are depicted here, in the foggy rubbles of the burned down building, is just mesmerizing. The week this stems from might very well be the best that Raymond ever delivered and I’m honored and proud to own such an amazing example from it…the first panel was used for the cover of the Ron Goulart book on Alex Raymond’s art…I first saw this in the CAF-gallery of a friend 10+ years ago and after years of bugging him, he finally had mercy with me and made me it’s new caretaker…Thank you so much T., I promise to honor it… :-))) First published June 7th 1954… Social/Sharing |

While each one is lovely, that middle panel is dreamy. Or nightmarey.

Fantastic acquisition, Monty! The atmospheric inking on this one is sublime and marks a high point of Raymond's run on the strip.

I wish he had taken mercy on me. It must be because you look like Harry Potter.

Wow! How did I miss this one arriving in Germany! Congratulations. I agree, it is the best week in the Rip Kirby run artwise.
