Frank Godwin - Rusty Riley 8-18-56

Nice daily.  I have a few from '56 and wondered if Godwin was an early adopter of a marker for some of the blacks...in particular the final panel shadows.  I have trouble seeing a bruch make those lines.  I have several like this.  

Interesting thought Jeff.  I don't know anything about the early use or composition of markers, but I can see these large black areas being done by something like a filbert brush dipped right in the bottle.  The heavy blacks aren't faded at all like I might suspect could be the case with an old marker.
