Description

It is impossible to find any Art Spiegelman work, let alone published Spiegleman work. He famously (or infamously for our hobby) has never sold any pages from Maus. So I was very pleased to acquire this amazingly detailed piece at OAX from Scott Eder.

The subject matter is extremely poignant, especially as we know that Spiegelman's mother committed suicide after surviving Auschwitz, finding her husband (his father), migrating to the US and having Art.

It loses you visually in the process after P and it also loses person S! Spiegelman twists the Rube Goldberg humor for a more depressing age.

This art is depressing, I see the futility in it, but avoiding any sudden decisions. What a crazy piece, only in the minds of certain artists do we get such a interesting peek inside.
