Description

Joey Croner, the owner of South Korea�s Dice & Comics Cafe, mentioned on one of the Thursday shows that Minkyu would be doing an in store signing for FCBD which also happened to be Star Wars Day this year. I reached out to Joey, who connected me to Minkyu, and voila, this commission was arranged. Minkyu just wrapped up a run penciling (I think I counted correctly) 31 of the 40 issues in volume 2 of Doctor Aphra. Quite a run! There was never a doubt which character I was going to ask for. Thanks Minkyu, and thanks Joey for making the connection! I also was able to purchase a page from issue 11 (posted separately).

Yesterday, when Minkyu Jung
The taste of life was sweet like brain of Bob Layton
Joey at life as if it were a foolish game
The way FCBD would tease for Jeff again

Commission dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I planned
I always built to Tattooine and shifting sand
I lived by line and stunned, the naked light Thursday
And drink and draw, I see how the years have run away

Yesterday, when Minkyu Jung
There were so many songs that hated Kim Il Sung
So many wild Aphras that lay in store Joey
And so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to see

I ran the post that time, and Jung at last ran out
And then Croner stopped to think what life was all about
And every illustraton that I can recall
Concerned itself Joey or nothing else at all

Okay, I actually like Jung's Aphra better in this commission than on his published pages. Very nice!

Yep. I don't do a lot of commissions anymore, but super pleased with this one!
