Congratulations - this is a great piece! And although you never had this down as a grail, sometimes we obtain them before we even realise they were one! It's moments like this one that makes this hobby so great!
I was eye balling three things in this auction. I could have split my was chest three ways and put up softball bids on all three. Or I could go big and put all my eggs in one basket. The question was, which one? Unfortunately, I picked the wrong one. And ended up losing all three. I'm so glad fate made my choice for me and that I didn't get in your way for this one. It seems to have ended up where it was meant to be. Congratulations sir!

You can't, as an ambassador of CAF, go on telling people that Wolverine isn't real. Some of us still believe. You've ruined Christmas.
Also, in regards to Snorek crying...I've heard that Chuck Norris' name used to be Chuck Snorek, but you made him change it. So yes, we all can agree that Snorek does not cry.

Your description is so good on this powerful dynamic piece. It is simple yet conveys a great sense of movement and captures Wolverine very well. The background colors really give it that blood spatter look that enhances the sense of dynamic movement and deadliness of the claws. Special piece!
Despite the fact that an angry Wolverine has been drawn countless times, somehow Howard found a way to make this unique and uniquely Howard.

Fantastic collector's story, Chris, and I'm delighted this one is now home - sincere congrats! Even back then, you could really pick 'em! Chaykin brings all his skills to bear on this one to capture the savagery of Logan. The gradient splatter and sweet, simple composition / camera zoom are dialed in perfectly to showcase a killing machine of terrifying, remorseless efficiency. It has the feeling of a Byrne to me, with the raw power and fantastic presentation. Superb pick up, Chris! Congrats again on this artistic and auction triumph! :)

Saw this was also published in the Wovlerine EPIC collection trade.
Had to swing past for another study of this one, pal. I think one of the things that is so striking to me about it is the background. When I usually think of "fully-rendered Chaykin", there's lots of detail accompanying a design-centered flex. Make no mistake, the design flex is absolutely going on here: there's intentionality and then time carefully invested into its execution- but it's the stark, blunt-force savagery that makes it so striking. It's simultaneously typical and atypical Chaykin, and I find myself drawn to (and fascinated by) that nexus of energy surrounding this piece. Such a -great- piece, Chris. I find myself returning to look at it on my off-hours. :) Congrats again!
