Early Gibbons page for a comic which continues to this day in 'Doctor Who Magazine' with the 15th Doctor.

The top panel was trimmed for inclusion of the UK story title, but was restored for the eventual US publication (in color!) in 'Marvel Premiere # 60'

Gibbons had a tendency of showcasing the secondary characters in his Who pages, which often makes the Doctor's appearances in his pages rather fleeting. This one sports a nice closeup of Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor. Note how the writing team has got a pretty good grasp of Baker's character here, with the Doctor's insistence on attempting to save even his adversaries. 'Ahem... Warn them.' Very 4th Doctor.

For those wondering, I would presume 'AMV' would stand for 'Armored Moderator Vehicle' - kind of an in-joke within this particular story. Nice dramatic final panel.

Gibbons finds a way to delight fans with high quality illustration as Doctor Who would be a property that crossed over and had a great potential to gain readership.
