Description

First Fred Friday of the New Year!

Tonight I have chosen Jessica and Roger Rabbit.

Absolutely loved the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." And in fact the first CD I ever bought was the soundtrack to that movie. 1988...wow. The dawn of the music CD.

I hope some of you are old enough to remember when CDs (in jewel cases) came packaged in those long rectangular boxes? Longboxes they were called. They were designed so that two of them could fit side by side in the same bins that used to house vinyl records.

And the longbox was wasteful. People pretty much always threw them away. By 1990, it was estimated that longboxes were responsible for a whopping 18.5 million pounds of trash per year.

And it just added one more step to unpackaging your CD. Those shrink-wrapped factory sealed jewel cases are bad enough without adding a cardboard prison, right? There's a great cold open for the show "King Of Queens" where Doug comes home with the new CD of Bon Jovi. There's a great comedy sequence of Doug trying to open it ... with his fingernail, with his teeth ... finally he says, "Scissors ... now!" Carrie hands him one of those impossible-to-open factory sealed pair of scissors, which he looks at dumbly.

So, anyway, hope you enjoy these two sketch cards.

Thanks for the comment, Kavi!  I think you and Ruben are the only two people who consistently read my descriptions 😊

I think me and Ruben may be the only people across the entirety of CAF that consistently read ANY people's descriptions...hahaha ;-p

Haha!  But me too -- I belong to that club too!  I like reading descriptions, especially when it's obvious that a good amount of thought has been put into them.  They can be very interesting and insightful, and they give me ideas for comments when I'm stuck.  So you, me and Ruben are the Three Description Reading Musketeers. :-)

True true! Always appreciate your comments man, and agree that its helpful to me when commenting on other people's art. I can't always come up with some genius insight about the art, so if there's anything else to talk about like the story behind the piece its helpful for sure. And Marcus i think does read them too based on some of the lyrical choices he makes when he does the song parodies but he comments on so many that if he didn't read descriptions I think he gets a pass ha

I really appreciate all your comments too! And oh yeah, we should definitely include Marcus in the club, though as you say, with all the comments he leaves, who could blame him for skipping out on some descriptions.  Man oh man...He's so next level with his song parodies.  I don't know how he does it.  And he knows so many songs!!  Well, anyway, I'm so glad CAF exists.  This hobby wouldn't be anywhere near the same without the sharing and comraderie...

Another unique and fun one, though I have to confess I got confused at first and thought it was the Quick bunny!
