DescriptionI heard the sad news today of the passing of Jules Feiffer, who was one of the few remaining comics creators who had started work during the 1940s. He was originally an assistant to Will Eisner on The Spirit and then went on to become a noted author, playwright and screenwriter.Feiffer's cartoons were a staple in The Village Voice for decades and I was fortunate to pickup an original a few years ago. Thanks Ruben. Sorry to hear we lost both Feiffer and Art Nichols today, although Feiffer did get to live a long and productive life!

Wow, I hadn't heard about Art Nichols either, but I haven't hit any social media yet today, so that would explain why. I can't say I'm moved by the Nichols news, given he was one of the original "Let me steal money from my own fans by opening up a commission list for work I have no intention of actually doing." artists. But it's still never fun to hear this news about anyone we know in the hobby.

Wow -- I guess I'm the bearer of bad news today! Yeah - Art Nichols lost a lot of fans by not delivering commissions, but it's still sad to hear that he passed away at a fairly young age.

The cartooning is on point as an old man reflecting on his youth and especially for such a noted author who had mastered his craft of communication. Fitting for his passing as it was his greatest gift he left to us.
