Description
Acquired from Mr. Campbell at San Diego Comic-Con mere hours after his induction into the Eisner Hall of Fame.

Here, I like how he so deftly captures the eyes of a man trapped by his own deranged beliefs to commit unspeakable acts in 1888 Whitechapel. His style so perfectly lends itself to the Victorian era, being reminiscent of newspaper illustrations of the era.

I, of course, loved his seminal work with Alan Moore, From Hell, of which Sir William is a central character (also, he’s noted in actual history as having named the condition of anorexia nervosa). However, his Alec and ...The Artist books are a treasury of (autobiographical) life and cartooning in Australia and beyond. His inclusion in the Hall of Fame is well deserved, indeed.

Inducted into The Will Eisner Hall of Fame: 2025
