Description
In December 2013, I had the first of two incredible opportunities to travel to the USA and meet Elizabeth Falk, widow of Lee Falk. Before the trip, her agent Gary Sohmers, and I spent weeks discussing what remained in Elizabeth’s personal collection and which pieces she was prepared to part with at the time. During the flight over, I revisited the published stories from the Wilson McCoy years, and one story in particular stood out above the rest — the classic McCoy tale I’d always known as Carlyle’s Good Mark, more formally titled The Two Signs. To my amazement, I was given the opportunity to acquire several important original art pieces from that story — including the opening daily strips and a number of other key scenes. Even today, it’s difficult to describe what it feels like to hold original artwork from my favorite Phantom story in my own hands. This is Daily #1, with #2–10 to follow soon, along with several other memorable scenes from the story. I hope you enjoy this journey back into one of the great Wilson McCoy Phantom adventures!
