Description
This sketch has held up nicely since Adam drew it for me all those years ago. You didn't have to line up a 6AM to have a chance at getting on Adam's sketchlist, but back then, it was already pretty tough to get a sketch.

Way back when, what I paid Adam for this sketch and the Maze Agency 3 back cover was a lot less than what Adam charges for a convention sketch today.

Not sure if he still considers himself a minimalist but he did at the time. I was really into Deadman. And he did a great job on this. Instead of inking solid black areas, Adam went nuts with cross hatching. He still does some serious cross hatching once in a while these days.

Deadman was created by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino.

Wow!! Even then you can see the talent. I love seeing Adams work on something other then a chick. Really nice cross-hatching.

A breathtaking piece. This is a great example of his style.

Stunning Deadman by Adam Hughes! IMHO, Hughes really caught the msysterious, often frightening, mystical nature of the supernatural superhero. His pose, his expression, everything about this drawing captures the etheral quality of Deadman himself.

It's refreshing to see this style because he's so well known for his copic marker pieces, which are fabulous and funny. That said, this one is very appealing.

Very fine and ethereal.  I love it.
