When I bought the upper half of this page, I never dreamed that I would ever locate the missing bottom half, let alone that I would be able to reuinte the two pieces of this Great Bringing Up Father Sunday original in such a short period of time. THANK YOU MAX! Now this truly is one of the finest early BUF originals -- one of the greatest toppers, the account of Jiggs and Maggie's courtship and marriage, a rare instance where Maggie is actually nice to her husband, and as much unfaded color as one will ever find in a BUF (due to the large number of costume and scene changes, requiring color indications for the engraver). I think that the two pieces of the original were destined to be reunited, especially since they came together again (July 27, 2007, Pacific time), EXACTLY 83 years after the actual comic strip was published in newspapers around th world!

The published version of this original was one of only four Bringing Up Father Sunday pages chosen to be included in the first volume of Comic Strip Century.
