DescriptionShe is the filipino Wonder Woman but she actually is more like Captain Marvel...her powers come from a space rock which she swallows and then says 'Darna' and she is transformed from a young girl to the woman that you see....Darna has been around since 1949 and has since been the subject of 14 movies....Her Line "Ding, Ang Bato" lives in filipno minds and typical of filipino language (few words but long meaning)---it actually means : “My dear brother and sidekick Ding, could you pass me the alien stone, so I could change into the superheroine Darna, after swallowing it and shouting: DARNA!” Swallowing magical stones is commonly described in Filipino mysticism and just realized here in this cultural icon....for Filipinos, She is a Marvel and a Wonder....Social/Sharing |
