Michel Gagne came to San Francisco to promote his self-published works such as Frenzied Fauna from A to Z, Great Shadow Migration, Search for Meaning: the Story of Rex, and Zed Volume 1, his comic book. I'd heard he was an animator on Brad Bird's The Iron Giant and asked for a sketch. He hesitated at first, but drew this fine effort. Later, I learned Michel is an effects animator, not a character animator. For Pixar's Ratatouille, he created the food images as Remy tries to explain flavors to his brother Emile.
