Black Canary and Green Arrow in The Taming of the Shrew

It's a cliche, but, really, my digital camera doesn't quite do this drawing justice. Nick Cardy's pencils are simply gorgeous. When I opened the package and viewed it up close for the first time… well actually I kind of just giggled insanely for a few moments. But after that, I marveled at just how perfectly Mr. Cardy captured the postures, the expressions, the very feel of Petruchio (GA) & Katherine's (BC) farcical exit from their wedding.

From Act III, Scene III:

KATHERINE:
Gentlemen, forward to the bridal dinner
I see a woman may be made a fool,
If she had not a spirit to resist.

PETRUCHIO:
They shall go forward, Kate, at thy command.
Obey the bride, you that attend on her;
Go to the feast, revel and domineer,
Carouse full measure to her maidenhead,
Be mad and merry, or go hang yourselves:
But for my bonny Kate, she must with me.

(The writers did not let me know about this in advance, but it seems this commission was used in a book -- see the extra image below -- which is the first time anything I commissioned has been used for publishing. The scan from the book, which as of this writing I don't own, was sent to me by fellow collector, Alex Johnson, who has several nice Cardy pieces of his own.)
