Description
Journey back to 1972.
The Legion run in Action comics had come to an end and the Legion was relegated to reprints and an occasional back up in Superboy.
A newcomer was allowed to pencil this back up series. It took him a few issues to hit his stride but by Superboy 190, the Legion was his.
Here is page 1 of the story as the Legion tries to chose a new leader.

Oh so very cool title splash ! You can see a bit of Swan influence in Cockrum's style here (maybe due to Anderson's inks) and you can also see what a great artist Dave was even early on in his career ! Congrats on a true gem !

Great Splash page with 9 characters and almost half are the ladies, looks Great.

What I find most amusing about this splash, aside from that it is a incredible piece of LSH/Cockrum/early DC BA art, is the dialogue. They protest it is the 30th century, and shouldn't a "girl" get another chance. This is why I find the DC stuff from this era so entertaining, although not in a way the creators intended.
