DescriptionIt was the late seventies and my Mom let me stay past my curfew at a friend's house to see the premiere of "Lord of the Rings" on showtime. It was the first time I had ever witnessed "rotoscoping" and the feature film just blew me away! Such graphics and the storyline was like nothing I'd ever seen before. I remember my walk home afterwards. Well, actually, more like my marathon! We lived seven or eight houses just around the corner but it was 11:30 pm and all I could imagine was the wraith riders coming after me. At nine or ten, you can really conjure up strange, morbid things in your head. Needless to say, the movie had a major impact on me and I consider it a classic. I found this little gem years ago and it brings back so many memories. I remember the sales rep on the phone explaining this is where the "real" art comes into play, not the stuff done on cells and such. I can't believe I snagged one with my favorite character, Frodo. Many great artists worked on this film such as Mike Ploog, Paul Smith (PMS) and Ralph Bakshi too. Who's art is actually on this? Who knows, but if anyone has any information I'd love to hear from you.Social/Sharing |

There are still lots of aspects to this vers. of the LOTR that i still love!... congrats on adding this gem to your collection.
