Free Comic Book Day 2011 at Heroes Aren't Hard to Find in historic Charlotte, NC. Budd Root is hands down one of my favorite artists in terms of ability and personality. I've met up with Mr. Root 4 or 5 times now and we have great conversations about Universal monsters and such every time I see him. One of these days I'm gonna get a Plan 9 From Outer Space commission from him. Budd was kind enough to add a simply stunning Lily to accompany the Herman he did for me year before last. Yeah, Budd really nailed it. He said something to the effect of: "I'm not always confident with likenesses, but I think I managed to catch her". I agree. I wish I could find that pic you're talking about, I can hardly find anything from the event.
