Don't see many finished 'Invisibles' covers around.
Dane is totally tripping!
"You are nothing. Nothing at all."
I bought this cover from a UK based auction house in 2005. At that time the Canadian dollar to English pound was brutal. Using current exchange, my bid price was a steal, but back then the rate was about 2.5 to 1.
I had targeted two pieces, it really was a great auction. A Marshal Law piece was my #1 goal, but even with a 'geez, how will I make rent' bid, I was outbid.
This left the Invisibles cover, and these things are not that common. How many Invisibles covers have you seen out there? So I had a decent bid on the piece, pricey still, and I won.
But when they shipped it out, the bastards insured the piece for an arm a leg! So the government came for their piece of the action and I paid a ridiculous sum to import this thing into the country.
I love the cover, and it's a good thing because based on my outlay no one will ever be able to compensate me enough to break even.
This was part of my recovered art collection. The piece was stolen from my hotel room post-SDCC 2013. Purchased back by me via California's laws which protect pawn shops from going under due to purchasing stolen goods. Thief was arrested in August 2015.
