Invisibles represented a resurgence of comics, a time when the superhero realm, which by this point I already perceived as utter drek but read out of habit, was a cess pool (and hasn't really improved in the past 15 years, has it?).

This was a genre-busting book, and really cemented Morrison as the #1 guy in the industry, if for nothing other than having his readers perform a mass jerk-off session on US Thanksgiving 1995, all to create the energy necessary to cast a spell which would stave off cancellation.
