DescriptionA rare page from MICRONAUTS ISSUE ONE. A HUGE kudos has to go to C.C. for liberating (and I mean liberating) this one!A few fun things to note here. 'Xats'? A clumsy measurement of time which I'm confident was never mentioned in the book again. How odd. Love the use of various types of Zipatone™ used by inker Rubenstein here. Four patterns, by my count. Love the silhouette of Marionette in the upper right, not much detail but full of life. Bug without his helmet. Lastly, note the superb understanding of body language in drawing Baron Karza and Shaitan. Karza, supremely confident and clearly bored, slouches Caligula-like in his throne. Shaitan, a 'man of action' yet full of nervous energy, leans forward on the edge of his seat. You can see who is master and who is subordinate without reading a word. If you're going to try to get a book off the ground on it's first issue, you need an artist who has the storytelling skill to convey characterization beyond the words on the page. Wow, you really know how to update a CAF gallery, Andrew! This page is just amazing. A real display of masterful zipatone use, and so many great characters. I especially like the dancing shadow in panel 3. Big congrats!

Don't know how many Xats it took you to find this one but I can imagine you as I look at the middle panel, I see both the collector wondering how to get his most precious and the collector sitting proudly in front of his art !!!! Congrats on a great one !!!

This is one stellar page that justly deserves to be in your collection! Actually, yes, this is the very same page I was quoted a price of $5000! That is whacked! But then that first run of Golden were priceless; )
