Battlestar Galactica (1st Miniseries 1995) Issue 04 pg 22 & 23 BATTLESTAR SPLASH PAGE

I've been reliably told that, as the series was being created, the inclusion of the Battlestar Pegasus was discouraged by some, but insisted upon by others. But, at the time, there was no guarantee of any more issues after the inital four, so why not please all the fans and throw in the kitchen sink?

I can understand the objection to the 'Deus Ex Machina' element of the sister Battlestar's arrival, but it's too irresistible to deny; as it so delightfully mirrors the famous cliffanger from the original series.

Baltar: Burn, Galactica. You're finished, Adama!
Cylon Pilot: [looking out to port] Sir, if I may...
Baltar: Not now - I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction.
Cylon Pilot: I really think you should take look at the other Battlestar.
Baltar: What are you babbling about, a...
[Baltar is dumbstruck at the sight of the Battlestar Pegasus]
Baltar: It's impossible!
Cylon Pilot: No. It is a Battlestar.
Baltar: Turn, you fool! Turn! He's coming right for us!
