Description

I've long admired RGKs art as well as his influence on Frazetta's work, but I've never pulled the trigger on one of his pieces before. I recently saw this one for sale and couldn't pass it up. For my taste, Krenkel is exceptional at composition and capturing sweeping vistas. In this drawing, I really like the pose of the hunter and the beautifully indicated mastodon, but I think the clouds are what I like most.

This appeared on p. 184 of Yoe's very nice "The Fantastic Art of Roy G. Krenkel".
