DescriptionGolden Age "good girl" artist MATT BAKER page to the 1951 story: "Preview of Chaos!" The story synopsis sounds a bit similar to elements of "Superman: The Movie" -- A druid has been hired to make it appear that the moon is on a collision course with California so a crook can buy real estate cheap (a-la Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor). An attorney discovers the conspiracy and leads the authorities to the capture of the crooks. Matt Baker (1921-1959) is generally considered the first known African American artist to find success in the comic-book industry and was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2009.Social/Sharing |
