The Return Of Tarzan

As a lifelong fan of ERB, I always look forward to seeing new depictions of his characters. Several years back, Dark Horse published several series featuring the iconic Tarzan. Christopher Schenck provided a beautiful rendition of Burrough's Jungle Lord. He captured the look and feel of the character, as few can. His vision hearkens back to the golden age of illustration. For several years, I wished for a piece from this talented artist. After getting in touch with Christopher, my wish has finally been fulfilled. I picked a scene set in Opar, and Christopher, never having had the chance to capture that setting, was happy to oblige. We chose the sacrificial room from the second Tarzan adventure, The Return of Tarzan. Tarzan interrupts La as she readies to plunge her blade into Jane's breast. Christopher has captured this dramatic setting to perfection! I only wish he could get to do more Burroughs comics. Thanks, Christopher for this beauty.
