It's only slightly joking that I might label this page as 'THE #1 most boring Michael Golden MICRONAUTS page.' (No, it's not for sale, then. Don't even start with me.) From the two signatures, I suspect when this issue was divided up between the artists, this was granted to a 'background' inker - I'm sure he was
thrilled. ;-)
Not a single human figure of note in the entire page.
All comics must have a few 'story beats' like this, world-building 'setup' sort of pages. I suppose this must have appealed to Golden's affinity for spaces and structures (which is often on the forefront of his current compositional style). Perhaps most notable for visually introducing the one building in MICRONAUTS which almost qualifies as a character in and of itself: the Baron's BODY BANKS. Maybe I just need to read this page with John William's KRYPTON theme playing in the background...
Note the different color choices from the original and reprint series. As usual, even with a little crudeness showing, I prefer the original.
