Description
I started reading John Byrne's Alpha Flight with issue #6 (January 1984) and quickly became a big fan of the team of Canadian superheroes!

Here's a lovely Snowbird transformation page from Alpha Flight #15 (from my first year of reading the title) where Anne McKenzie, recently escaped from prison (she had been jailed for being AWOL many times while on missions with Alpha Flight), reveals her true identity to her RCMP colleague Doug Thompson who professes his love for her!

Issue #15 was the first issue of the title where John Byrne didn't ink his own pencils; former X-Men inker Bob Wiacek picked up the inking duties and I quite like the results! I picked up a few pages from this issue about 8 years ago and this is the first time I've posted any of them publicly - enjoy!

Seems like everyone but Byrne loved his AF run. Nice page (I also got some during that split).

I know Mr Coker is distraught about trading this away.  I can see why.  Nice page!

I think by this time, a different inker was needed to have the lighter line for the Byrne anatomy and facial expressions.  Especially nice for the elegant lines needed for a character like Snowbird.  This may be one of the defining images of her.

Excellent page. Snowbird is a great character.  Nerdy Point: not really a "mutant " team

What a stunner of a page ftom John Byrne's Alpha Flight! Beautifully  laid out and pencilled by Byrne, the inks by Bob Wiacek only enhance the page, especially the final reveal of Snowbird! She really looks lovely in this panel--It may be the best drawing of her from the whole run. I really enjoyed Byrne's Alpha Flight and read it from the beginning. I always thought it was only natural that there would be a Canadian superhero group--Superheroes weren't limited to being Americans, I figured. This is a terrific page and an important one in the history of the group. Great pick-up, congrats!
