Description

This is a magnificent cover for "I Grandi Classici Disney", illustrated by Giorgio Cavazzano and inspired by the classic story "Paperin Babà".

First published in 1961, written by Carlo Chendi and illustrated by Luciano Bottaro, "Paperin Babà" is a parody of the Arabian legend of Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves.
We do have here the Beagle Boys as the thieves (obviously) that rob the rich caliph Scrooge, Donald as Ali Baba that wants to use the money to humiliate his lucky "brother" Gladstone", and Huey/Dewey/Louie that will be the heroes at the end of the story, defeating the thieves, saving Donald and Gladstone and making sure Scrooge gets his money back.
