Description
When I saw the new Spider-Woman costume, I thought to myself I had to try and pay tribute to this complex, iconic character's history. That being said, I looked at John Romita Sr's cover design for her very first ongoing series as inspiration. Romita is my favorite Spider-Man artist, so I also decided to throw in a Spidey cameo. Basically, the composition reflects today's obsession with social media. Jessica is ambushed on the job by social media junkies capitalizing on a real-life superheroine sighting. The dialogue also reflects the direction the book is going, as well as Jessica's attitude in the internal story. Basically she's now a mother and takes no $%@@. And this was accomplished in A WEEK AND A HALF so that is a record. With inks and copic markers with white out, I'm satisfied with the finished product and the new suit is growing on me. Beautiful opportunity at negative space next time.
