Description

I had met Tony and his wife Tina along the convention circuit around 2009 - I had discovered the wealth of pinoy artists out there who contributed to American comics and Tony was instrumental to bringing many pinoy artists to America. They always greeted me with open arms and little by little, I discovered Tony's extensive bibliography of work.

Tony died in nearly 8 years ago next month, so he and Tina were on my mind as I perused through my collection of his works.

This was my last commission from Tony - finally, he drew two of my favorite characters - Superboy and Robin. This is Conner Kent Superboy and Tim Drake Robin and for me, whatever their costumes, will be the best of friends just as Bruce and Clark are and now, Damian and Jonathan.

He co-created Jonah Hex and Black Orchid. His art is on at US Stamp of Spider-woman. He is iconic to American comics and proudly pinoy.

I feel so grateful to have met Tony and Tina on this rediscovery of my pinoy heritage through comic art!
