R-Type III: The Third Lightning Video Game Box Cover Art (SNES Super Nintendo)

R-Type remains one of the most influential shooters of the late 1980s and early 1990s. While the Super Nintendo was gifted with a solid port of R-Type 2 (called Super R-Type), it wasn't until R-Type III came along that the series really shined on the system. It was specifically developed for the console and suffered none of the slowdown that the first game was plagued with. This painting is a lovely example of one of the best shootemup video games of the 90s.
