Description
Hulk finally gets his own hammer but it doesn't go the way you might think in this issue within the Avengers Fear Itself arc. This story was packed with amazing visuals and I was thrilled to pick up this cover with an all time favorite artist, Ed McGuinness. Great action and peril for these 3 trying to take down the Hulk. I hope nobody is outraged by Spider Woman's pose on the cover ;)

Also included is the colored cover for reference.

Hulk looking good with Colosus arms and light tatoos!  I guess Jessica Drew wants to check it out from a different angle!

I mean...if you REALLY wanna know if you can make a look work you gotta look at it from all angles :)  Great cover, Dan.  Hard to beat Ed on the Jade Giant and this one's uniquely cool in that you got Hulk in the uniquely cool Fear Itself look!  It was a fun read and a big part of that was the visuals...case in point!  Congrats!

Whoops! Multi-tasking can get the best of me at times, Dan...wait...Dave! Yes, Dave! At least I didn't say John or Mark or something. Dan's a semi-reasonable mistake?!  I guess we better work on this friendship thing! ;)

Hey, Spider-peeps are going to flip different than the rest of us. It's all in the thorax. I really like this McGuinness cover. I haven't read this book, but I will now. Hulk with armored arms, a hammer, and a tattoo (?) is something I want to check out. And what kind of needle did the artist use? I wonder if the Hulk sat well. :) Congrats!

What happens when the Asgardian god of fear gives the Hulk an evil hammer? We get a great Avengers read! I dug McGuinness' take on evil, runic-speaking Hulk. And how he alternated between sessions where the Avengers members analyze Drew (and themselves), in neat and precise 12 panel grids, then cutting to asymmetric, hectic fight pages with metallic, crackled Hulk and diagonal panels really kept the pace fast and fun and created a strong narrative arc. It was a really good comic! Thanks for the suggestion, Dave.

I'm so sad that the Hulk no longer sports this look.  It's awesome !!  And yeah, Spider-Woman was bowled over by Hulk's smash, and I'm bowled over by that pose.  Likey!  :)  Great cover!!

Always nice to see Ed's art. Especially like the way he drew Ms. Marvel here. Congrats!!
