2000AD #4 Judge Dredd: Brotherhood of Darkness, page 28

Without getting into the age-old argument about the order of the early Judge Dredd stories, this is the first page from the third published story (as Dredd didn’t appear in Prog 1). Dredd (in the centre of the page) is on a mission to rescue the Mayor’s son from a Brotherhood of light-sensitive mutants, but seems to be taking excessive pleasure in shooting at the Brotherhood’s acolytes.
McMahon always excelled in depicting the mad jumble of futuristic apartment blocks that made up Mega City One. The twisted, claustrophobic cityscapes were a perfect landscape for the urban tinder-box of crime and insurgency into which the overly authoritarian forces of law and order could be explosively inserted.
