All I know is that Paul messed up and let this page go too soon. Truman has that knack for these stories where he plays with a rugged cast set in a developing world.
Great looking page, with a nice Star Wars vibe to it. Alcatena's inks are top notch!
Great example from the best Truman and Hawkman story af them all. This minseries was among the best adult superhero stuff in this period and Alcatenas inks topped even Tim's own (on Grimjack and Scout).
Fantastic page for your collection! Thanks for posting it with a great write-up.
I couldn't agree more with your comments. Loved the story. Loved the art. Hated DC for revamping everything on a dime. I get that they want to pull in new readers and make characters more accessible... but throwing out the history/continuity for no reason was my frustration. I guess it set the tone for their Didio-visioned future where continuity can be reset rather than organically grown (e.g. Kyle, Conor, Wally) like they did at the start of the Silver Age (e.g. Flash, Atom, GL).
I could not agree with this comment more. I loved the organic growth that we got with Wally, Kyle and Connor that was mostly wiped away. I just don't put any faith in DC continuity anymore because you never know when it will be erased or restored.
Not really the posing but the rendering in the bottom panel really reminds me of Joe Kubert.
Yes! I think Truman was a student at the Kubert School.
