There's a lot more rendering going on here than I'm used to seeing from Bruce. Almost looks as if he couldn't stop adding to the piece. Sometimes that's a sign of an artist being unhappy with the image. But here it looks like he was just having too much fun. Also good to know that I'm not the only late bloomer when it comes to Kirby. Hopefully you enjoyed and appreciated your lightbulb moment as much as I did. For me, it was the best art ephiphany ever!
Yes. . .I Agree. .You can tell that Bruce is having a Helluva Time Creating this Piece. Each Line Vibrates with Exuberance and Joy!!
Timm doing Kirby is always so much fun. He does a good job channeling Kirby but also adds his own flavor as well. Really nice Hulk image! Huge congrats!
Great Hulk !
When an artist is so good at give life to both luscious girls and angry brutes, you can be sure he/she is a great artist :) Precious addition to your gallery!
Beautiful! Huge congrats
Great piece! I love when artists use blues for penciling and you can see their process of finding the right lines. It's more like an experiment in sculpture than what you naturally think of as drawing a figure. That thought kind of blew my mind when i first realized that the better way to find the right line was to just let your freak flag fly a little. Seeing it in blues like this always makes me appreciate that road. I love this Hulk. It's super cool man. I really like Timm's comic subject stuff. His pretty girls are nice, but his comic stuff is where it's at for me.
Timm "got" Kirby on a cellular level. The beautiful homage style has always struck me. It's so Kirby, but so Timm. A gorgeous Hulk. Congrats on getting it! ;)
Happy this is in an awesome gallery! I too must admit I didn't come to appreciate Kirby or Timm's art until several years ago as well so will share in that shame.
Damn good! Love it!
Phenomenal Hulk by Timm. Congrats
I love Bruce Timm's interpretation of Jack Kirby. Clearly Kirby but also clearly Timm. Congrats.
Sockamagee!
A lovely, Kirbyesque piece, capturing the King's creation with great observation while adding his own style. The pose is perfect and the feet are superb.
Superb feet, indeed! I notice that some Timm Hulk pieces have 5 toes per foot whereas others have only 4, but his design and poses are always spot on, IMO. Thanks for your comment!
He's really drawing with the brushpen, not just tracing. Great wide Frankenstein Kirby Hulk head with a classic pose!
What a gorgeous example of Timm letting the Kirby out! This is a cartoon I would love to see!
A great Timm Hulk!
Wow! I love this! Reminds me a bit of Kirby's work on Hulk. Great pick-up!
great deal of a piece. it's not often i get to see anything from Bruce that doesn't have his usual pin up vibe. this is diffrent and unique and this is why i like it.
This is fantastic. You don't see many Hulk leaping drawings. Congrats!
Such a cool Timm Hulk, absolutely great example, congrats!
