“Tattoo” aka "Tattoo Bettie”.

This painting created in 2001 shows Huerta’s skill and mastery in what I believe, and many critics concur to be ONE of his greatest works. This is the real thing and I am forever grateful to find her. Thank you to the member /collector for selling her to me. It was originally purchased Robert Bane Editions Beverly Hills. This is one of the many dozens or so paintings Armando created and sold to his then publisher of several years Ricky Carralero in 2001. Ricky then painted over many of Armando's signatures (forged) and resold them as his own through galleries, comic shops and so on as his own creation.

Published many times with only a horrible scan until now so I hope you all will enjoy.

This is one of three Gil Elvgren tributes Armando painted. (That I am aware of anyway). Clearly inspired by one of his favorite artists, he recreated Elvgren’s pose of the famous painting “Darlene” in his own way and made her his favorite muse, Bettie Page. It is airbrush acrylic but it appears to have some colored pencil work in there.

This Masterpiece is indeed one caught up in the Ricky Carralero signature scandal but it is 💯 percent Armando Huerta and in no way defaces the image itself, gratefully. I love her very much! I am obsessed with Huerta now and consider him one of the best pinup artists of all time.

way is his work. Please see my additional photos for more description with raking light so you can clearly see the signature under the forgery. Once framed and hung you can barely see it.
