Description

Here's another animation cel of Peter Venkman, Janine Melnitz and Louis Tully as seen in one of my favorite episodes of The Real Ghostbusters: "Partners in Slime."

In this scene, Janine and Louis are held captive in the clutches of Poso, the would-be "Ghostfather," serving as bait for the Ghostbusters. With assistance from the not-so-friendly Shifter, Peter Venkman embarks on a daring rescue attempt, covered in enough ectoplasm to fool a few other ghosts.

This is a hand-painted painted acetate cel. For comparison's sake, a screencap of the cel in its final form taken from the Amazon PrimeVideo digital copy, around the 19 minute, 20 second mark.

Looks like they put in another layer for the red tint effect.

Indeed! It's nice to be able to compare the original cel layers to bring out a little more clarity than could be seen in the completed episode.
