DescriptionNew commission: the latest issue of my Golden Age Team-Up Project series (The Brave And The Bold #207), pairing Batman with Doll Man. Art by Bambos Georgiou, adapted from the cover to Marvel Team-Up #103, original art by Jerry Bingham.1942 - and Batman has been taken prisoner by the Axis! Acting on information gathered by Manhunter from assorted Bundists, his fellow heroes follow up a series of leads - Hourman investigates rumours of Bund activity at a chemical plant, and stops an attempt to blow it up, but finds no sign of Batman; the Crimson Avenger foils a plot to kidnap US scientists, but again there is no trace of the Gotham Guardian; and Dr Occult uncovers an attempt by Nazi mystics to bring a demon to earth to kill high-ranking military officers - but the kidnapped Batman is nowhere to be found. Doll Man, however, has more luck - following an indication that an old Gotham family have close links to the Nazi regime, he investigates their upstate mansion (a replica of a Germanic castle) and discovers Batman being held prisoner in the dungeons! Ambushing the guard, Doll Man liberates Batman, and the two heroes search for the Axis villains at the heart of the plot - but are jumped by Kung, Zyklon, Night and Fog, and after a prolonged battle, are captured again! When Doll Man regains consciousness, he sees Batman strapped into a mysterious apparatus - and Baron Blitzkrieg is about to crush Doll Man's miniature body underfoot! Reacting swiftly, Darrell Dane grows to full size, throwing the Nazi across the room, and rushes to free Batman. When Batman appears groggy, Doll Man encourages him - "we've got to stop the Nazis!" - only for Batman to mutter under his breath --- "Nazis ... Stop" and unexpectedly turns on his fellow hero, brutally beating him before throwing his unconscious body through a window. The secret is revealed: using another brainwashing machine (seen in #203), Baron Blitzkrieg has turned Batman to the side of the Axis - and now plans to send him to slay his comrades in the All-Star Squadron! To be continued - next issue! Social/Sharing |

That Batman bondaged in the death trap may actually be more associated a different era, especially with the brows on the cowl, but this one just works and looks so good.

I did something similar with a Legion piece ( different cover source ) but the effect it creates is fantastic
