DescriptionI always loved the rounded softness of James Jean's work but only started collecting original art in 2020, way after he'd exploded as not only a well-known Cover Artist but also an internationally renowned Fine Artist... so a prelim is probably the most I could hope for from him. But, it doesn't matter because at least with a pencil sketch I get to see the raw flow of his lines and the result, to me, is just as nice (different from the painted final, but still really nice).The extra bonus to picking up this piece was that it came with a signed and embossed print of the finished cover. Super happy with that combo. Acquired via ComicLink auction. Social/Sharing |

The prelims he releases are really impressive in themselves as they are the final pencils before taking to the paints. It shows the work was done and ideas set.
